Since turning pro in 2003, Carl has received numerous awards from the Irish Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) including 9 awards in his first year of business. Hundreds of photographs are judged by a team of seasoned professionals from around the country and are awarded points based on a number of criteria. The criteria include technical competence, lighting, composition and originality. Carl uses the competitions to measure the quality and standard of his photography as a professional photographer.
